Thrive Through the Holidays…

Dr. Will Tuttle

As we move soon into the Thanksgiving and Holiday season, I’m often reminded of Shel Silverstein’s fine poem, “Point of View.” The first stanza reads:

Thanksgiving dinner’s sad and thankless,
Christmas dinner’s dark and blue,
When you stop and try to see it
From the turkey’s point of view.

Thankfully, increasing numbers of us are changing our point of view. We’re creating new dining traditions that embody greater awareness, compassion, and justice for all of us. We’re including animals, ecosystems, hungry people, and the interconnected web of life here on Earth in our hearts as we celebrate and cultivate a thankful attitude.

You can read Shel Silverstein’s entire poem at the end of this post!

In keeping with this, we are delighted to invite you to a terrific online event in which we are participating – and it’s –

Heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated activists and angels in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia who lovingly arranged the recent lecture presentations on our 10-day Food for Freedom Northwest Tour that reached many people with the message of kindness, and the necessity of awakening from the cultural trance that’s imposed on us.

On November 22nd, we’ll be adventuring into an outstanding 5-month tour schedule that’s shaping up: The World Peace Way Tour. Heading cross country throughout many states, we’ll be sharing the message of compassion, health, sustainability, and freedom, so please view our Schedule of Upcoming Events for all the details and let us know if you’d like us to come to your area.

Finally, on Sunday, November 3, right here in northern California, we’ll be teaming up with the vibrant vegan wizards at Gold Ridge Organic Farms in Sebastopol to present Food as Medicine at 1:00 p.m. If you’re in northern California, this is a not-to-be-missed event at North America’s premier organic olive and apple producer, winner of the highest awards for their olive oil and other products.

That’s it for now; thanks for all your efforts to bless our world!

We look forward to hopefully seeing you before long as our journeys fold and unfold on this beautiful Earth…

For the animals and all of us, and for a different point of view,

With love,

Will & Madeleine

Point of View

By Shel Silverstein

Thanksgiving dinner’s sad and thankless,

Christmas dinner’s dark and blue,

When you stop and try to see it

From the turkey’s point of view.

Sunday dinner isn’t sunny

Easter feasts are just bad luck,

When you see it from the viewpoint

Of the chicken or the duck.

Oh, how I once loved tuna salad,

Pork and lobster, lamb chops, too,

Till I stopped and looked at dinner

From the dinner’s point of view.
